Mr. Frisbie has served the Owego Apalachin School District for over 29 years, touching the lives of over 3,000 students as a social studies teacher. Most recently, Mr. Frisbie has been the Director of The Teacher Learning Center, where he has helped over 200 teachers with their professional development. Mr. Frisbie has shown the willingness to go beyond his job expectations throughout his career to benefit the entire district. She has been serving as principal of the Donnelly Elementary School since 1990. Ms. Charsky has announced that she will be retiring in June to continue her love of traveling and service for her church which includes work in Uganda. Ms. Charsky's dedication to her students at Donnelly as well as her humanitarian services are a true testiment to the quality of education our children receive.

First, a giant giveaway, held in late August where people can choose a variety of items free of charge. Secondly, a holiday gift program, providing for students in need at the high school and approximately 20 family gift packages. Elizabeth is a very intelligent, hard working professional who's most important trait is her caring and devotion to special needs children and the effort she puts forth to insure they are served well. Although Karen retired from teaching at the end of 2006, her contribution as a 3rd grade teacher at CFJ Elementary left a impression with her co-workers and students that will never be forgotten. In 2006, Karen was awarded the district's Alan Lichstein Outstanding Employee Award. During her tenure, Karen's love of teaching earned her great respect from her piers. Mr. McDonald is the bowling coach and high school monitor at the Maine Endwell High School. An employee for over 30 years, Dave has left a lasting legacy as a punctual, courteous employee willing to go beyond his responsibilities without hesitation. Mr. McDonald, a former marine, honored past Maine Endwell graduates who sacrified their lives for our country with a touching memorial on display in the high school lobby. Mr. Halliday has been with the district since 1995 where he lives with his wife and three children. Nominated by fellow drivers, Cliff was honored by the New York Association for Pupil Transportation as the 2007 School Bus Technician of the Year, recognizing him for exemplifying the characteristics of excellence and quality, resulting in safer school buses and school bus travel for our children. Congratulations to Mr. Bob Cummings on being selected as BCT's School District Employee of the Month for December. Mr. Cummings retires at the end of the school year, having served the M-E School District since 1984, as a bus driver and mechanical helper. Known for his small tool kit, Bob always helped other drivers with bus issues. His greatest joy comes from the special relationships he has made with the students he has driven, and watching them as they grow into adulthood. This year Bob was awarded the "Golden HubCap Award" by his co-workers. Mr. Childs served the Union Endicott School District for 35 years as a science teacher before recently retiring. Mr. Childs is a mentor to both new and experienced teachers. He developed and taught courses for elementary teachers to enable science to be accessible and meaningful to all age groups. Mr. Childs has been recognized among the Who's Who of American Teachers and received Radio Shack's National Teacher of the Year Award along with UE's Alan Lichstein Award. Congratulations to Mrs. Melissa Restuccia on being selected as BCT's School District Employee of th Month for February. Mrs. Restuccia is the K-12 Art Dept. Chairperson at Vestal Central Schools. An exceptional leader and teacher, Melissa projects a warm, friendly and encouraging demeanor to her students and fellow staff members. In 2004, Mrs. Restuccia was named the Region 4 Art Educator of the Year by the NYS Art Teachers Association as well as being nominated for the Kaisen Award, which recognizes a committment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement. Mrs. Kneeler is currently teaching the 4th Grade and AIS at Owego Apalachin Elementary and is also the buildings technology coordinator. Recently, Mrs. Kneeler conducted a research project in her classroom teaching students to crochet and that enthusiasm was linked with reading and writing activities. For this work, she was featured on a local new broadcast and has been published in national educational journals. Ms. Flynn is also a member ofthe "Building Leadership Team" working with parents, teachers, and administration to enhance the educational experience of every student. Mrs. Repp is not only a dedicated and caring instructor teaching biology at SV High School, but also extends herself well beyond the classroom. She has organized a series of programs to support all of the students and members of the community including a Thanksgiving basket drive, school wide Christmas Gift drive, Merit breakfast program, and Student Council Teacher Appreciatiion. Chris is completing his 5th year as a computer technician and is also the energy manager for the Montrose Area School District. In his capacity as the energy manager, Chris has worked to save the district $115,000.00 in the first six months of his program. This position requires him to put in hours outside of his normal work day and he does so without question. As a driver, her bus runs can be very challenging as she works with special needs students. She shows exceptional patience and empathy when dealing with some very difficult and trying situations. Cathy reaches out to others in so many ways and wants no recognition. Cathy is a very valued member of the transportation department. In the classroom, she maintains high expectations in her quest for personal excellence, investing a great deal of time continuing her own learning and is a wonderful mentor for youger teachers. As a former gifted and talented teacher, Nancy maintained a challenging menu of enrichment programs for students and their families. Mrs. LaRose has also spent hundreds of volunteer hours serving the PTA, U-E Board of Education advisory teams, Roberson Center for the Arts and Sciences and organizations like "Odyssey of the Mind" and "Destination Imagination."

Jr. Jones has worked within the district for 28 years in the facilities and grounds department. Carl has demonstrated his committment and dedication to the Vestal School District and it's students on a daily basis, and can always be counted on at a minutes notice.
Carl begins his shift at 7AM and then he's back at 8PM to secure the gates at Dick Hoover stadium for the night. Saturdays you might find him planting mums at the stadium with students earning community service hours. Carl has done setup for every graduation for the past 27 years, along with planting and nurturing all the flower arrangements you will see at the ceremonies.

Congratulations to Erica Tabbert, BCT's School District Employee of the Month for March. Ms. Tabbert is in her 6th year as an art teacher at Owego Elementary. With her guidance, graduating 5th graders paint a mural on the hallway walls as a afarewell before moving up to the middle school. She has been an Odyssey of the Mind coach, helping students learn what they can accomplish is only limited by their imagination. She teaches an after school crocheting class where students, parents, and grandparents learn together; along with teaching students Swing Dance so they can perform in the spring concert. In addition, Ms. Tabbert has been a "buddy" for many students who benefit from the daily encouragement of an adult and she serves as a mentor to other teachers.
Erica inspires everyone with her positive attitude and optimism and always goes the extra mile to benefit her students. The Owego Apalachin School District is honored to have such a talented teacher who inspires students and staff and makes Owego Elementary a better school by being part of its team.

Mrs. Meeker, Mrs. Sharpe, and Mrs. Samsonik have worked together for many years, and are the primary special education team at C.R. Weeks Elementary School and have distinguished themselves as outstanding educators with both their peers and administration.
They have worked with students who not only have a wide range of age, but also ability level and provide a safe nurturing environment for them. Mrs. Meeker and her team are seamless in their approach to teaching students with special needs. They set high expectations for all, but offer the necessary support for each student to take risks and to reach the apex of their capabilities. Mrs. Meeker, Mrs. Sharpe, and Mrs. Samsonik are all mentors in the Weeks Watch program where students are paired with a mentor for guidance.

Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Potter, BCT's School District Employee of the Month for May. Jennifer is a high school special education teacher for the Susquehanna Valley School District. Her heart is always with her students. During the day, you will find her helping students pass tests, finish homework, understand a concept, or fighting for them to finish high school. She has also been a club advisor as well as an advisor for student council and peer leaders.
The hours Jennifer spends at her job and her dedication to the student body is beyond belief. Under her guidance, students have planned the Homecoming Dance and Parade, the Thanksgiving Holiday Food Drive which provides food baskets to needy families, the Merit Breakfast honoring hard-working students performing at their best, the Semi-Formal Winter Prince Dance and organized a student presentation advocating for a chemical free lifestyle. Recently Mrs. Potter coordinated a group of students that did a wonderful renovation of the high school faculty lounge.

Congratulations to Mrs. Becky Hochuli, BCT's School District Employee of the Month for June. Mrs. Hochuli is a 5th grade teacher for the Deposit School District.
A teacher in the Deposit district for 25 years, daughter of a retired Deposit educator, and a graduate of Deposit herself, Mrs. Hochuli has been involved with the school system and community since she was a young girl. She takes a huge interest in helpng students develop an appreciation for their community through the school wide character education program and local community service work. Her extra cirricular activities that have enriched the lives of many students include: Coordinator of Earth Day, Costume Director for school musicals, Advisor for the Gifted and Talented program and the Elementary Newspaper Club. Mrs. Hochuli also serves as a Grade Level Chair and Liasion Representative.
Committed to the achievement of her students, she never backs away from a challenge. Sadly for the district, Mrs. Hochuli will be retiring this year and it will be a tremendous challenge to replace her dedication to the students and community.
